ProInefficiency (PI) was founded in 2005 by Jasper Kooper. He strongly believes that the openview search for effectiveness will make a person or a business stronger than efficiency and control methods. In 2012 Nassim Nicholas Taleb came with his book Antifragile. This strengthened him in his ideas about PI.
ProInefficinecy created devices for in and around the house and presentation devices for products of third party designers/artists.
The products of PI demand a different approach of daily life devices or activities. Some examples are:
- “Beachwalk 207” (as seen in the image above), a hometrainer with beach-experience (Dutch Design Week Eindhoven)
- “Rowing Coffee“, an ergometer, by doing your rowing-excercise you can either stir in your coffee or blow up balloons (Dutch Design Week Eindhoven, Sail05 Amsterdam, Museumn8 Scheepvaartmuseum Amsterdam)
- “Marching Supershirts“, a clothes rack from wich the shirts of “Supershirt” (T-shirt brand) were hanging and marching around the rack (Myymala2, Helsinki)
- “Shooting GI-Joe“, a shooting-range where paintings of actionfigures by Rombout Oomen where going to and fro between to cabins of the shooting-range. You could shoot with paintballguns. (Myymala2, Helsinki)
- “Remote Mannequins“, two RC mannequins to present sweaters designed by Henk Boverhoff on the catwalk (PA///KT and Ki-osk, Amsterdam)
Jasper Kooper has since worked for a variety of companies as a developer, consultant and trainer, mainly in the educational field.
During the past years he has worked with system centred thinking, design thinking, and self-developed methods of training. Besides his own search for ways of coaching and training people, he also took place in the Van Ede Academy of Van Ede and Partners.
